Jimmy Wales co-founder of Wikipedia announced on December 23rd via Twitter that his company will pull its domains from GoDaddy, the worlds biggest registrar.
Despite the reversal of GoDaddy stance on SOPA Wikipedia will move its domain portfolio to another registrar.
“I am proud to announce that the Wikipedia domain names will move away from GoDaddy. Their position on sopa is unacceptable to us.“
Jimmy Wales later said they would not reverse their decision, stating that GoDaddy’s support of SOPA was not incidental.
